The former Honkers restaurant property in Mishawaka is about to become the home of a new hotel.

Hotel management company White Lodging has announced their plans to put a Hilton “Home2Suites” hotel on the site, according to a press release.

The company says the growth of Mishawaka and the proximity of the property to both Notre Dame and the South Bend International Airport makes it ideal for another hotel, which will generate business and jobs.

The new hotel will offer an oversized gym, indoor pool, complimentary breakfast with hundreds of meal combinations, easy access to the internet, and pet-friendly service.

The four-story building will have 126 suites, and should be finished by next fall. Their goal is to open the hotel just in time for the next Notre Dame football season.
