Krystal McFadden and Clint Dunning were living together in a Geneva Township apartment in 1992. McFadden’s children, 3 year-old Robert Rainey and 5 year-old Amber Rainey died in the fire in November or 1992 that destroyed the apartment house.

The fire was ruled an arson and the pair have long been considered persons of interest in the case. New information in the cold case led to the charges.

Dunning was recently in jail in Missouri and extradited to Michigan for arraignment this week. McFadden was arraigned in September.
