MedFlight called following serious crash on S.R. 19 between Elkhart and Wakarusa

Two people are hurt and one had to be airlifted following a serious crash on State Road 19 between Elkhart and Wakarusa Tuesday morning.

The crash happened at around 11:30 a.m. That stretch of road was closed for over two hours, according to the Elkhart Truth.

A total of four vehicles were involved. A small car stopped to make a left turn onto a driveway when it was hit from behind by a minivan. Two trucks trying to avoid the crash couldn’t and ended up colliding themselves, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department.

MedFlight transported one person to Memorial Hosptial in South Bend. Another was taken via ambulance to Elkhart General Hospital. The two other drivers were treated and released.
