Update: The man who died has been identified as 16-year-old Nicholas Hewitt of Lansing, Michigan.
One person died after a car collided into a two trees, one of which fell across the road.
The collision happened around 6 a.m. on Wed., Jan. 4, on M40 near Harvey St. in Jones, Mich. The passenger in the vehicle died, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.
The driver of the car suffered minor injuries. The road was closed for about 3 hours during the investigation.
It’s believed high winds may have caused the tree to fall, according to police, as reported by WSBT.
