A high-speed chase in St. Joseph County, Michigan could result in charges for a Sturgis man currently sitting the county lock-up.

The 33 year-old man, who was wanted on several outstanding warrants, was reportedly driving recklessly in Sherman Township Friday night, according to WSBT.

He was reportedly driving through fields and passing other motorists on the shoulder. He led police on a 20 minute pursuit that included speeds of 100 miles per hour before crashing into an irrigation culvert, leaving the car partially submerged.

He was found nearby hiding in a drainage pipe.

The case remains under investigation. His name is not being released until charges have been filed.
