Police called to break up fight near Clay High School in South Bend

A report of a large fight involving dozens of students sent police officers to an area near Clay High School.

The call came in to 9-1-1 dispatchers just before 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 25.

The fight occurred off school grounds, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

The fight was between two Clay High School students. A group of between 40 and 50 students were also at the site of the fight, according to Sue Coney with the South Bend Community School Corporation, ABC 57 reported.

The students involved in the fight were taken into custody and will likely face disciplinary action at school, ABC 57 reported.
