Berrien County police chase goes through field before suspect is caught

A police chase in Berrien County ended up going through a field before its conclusion.

A truck that was allegedly speeding on U.S. 12 near Gardner Rd. in Buchanan Township was chased by a Michigan State Police trooper into a field, according to ABC 57.

The truck wasn’t able to evade troopers and turned back onto a service road. Along the way, police learned the truck had been stolen from Three Oaks. The driver stopped at a dead end and ran from the truck.

After a perimeter was set up along the St. Joseph River, the man ran right into the arms of an officer, according to ABC 57.

The suspect was taken to Berrien County Jail. His name is being withheld until he’s arraigned.
