Two big pieces of Notre Dame football history have been auctioned off to a high bidder.

Daniel “Rudy” Ruettiger’s helmet and jersey he wore in his one and only game on Nov. 8, 1975 was auctioned off for $241,500, according to the South Bend Tribune.

Hunt Auctions held an auction event during Super Bowl weekend in Houston, and Ruettiger’s helmet was one of many items up on the block.

Daniel “Rudy” Ruettiger became famous for his one substitute appearance against Georgia Tech on Nov. 8, 1975. Ruettiger’s underdog story became famous in the 1993 film “Rudy.” The walk-on sacked the Georgia Tech quarterback in the final play of the game in the only game he ever played in, and he was carried off the field by his teammates.
