Danisha Sarll was lucky.

That’s what a judge told her Thursday during her sentencing for her role in the murder of Brandon Jackson last year, according to the Elkhart Truth.

Sarll received a three year prison sentence and seven years probation on a charge of robbery while armed with a deadly weapon. She admitted to driving Tyrell Beavers, Shyla Southern, Joemongee White, and Kei’Shawn Chew to Jackson’s home with the intention to rob him.

Sarll apologized in court to Jackson’s family and said she wanted to do whatever it took to make it right. Judge Christofeno said her remorse seemed genuine, noting she was lucky to not be charged with murder. A murder charge would have carried a minimum 45 year prison sentence.

Beavers has been sentenced to 45 years in prison for murder. Southern earned a 14 year prison sentence for armed robbery. White and Chew are awaiting jury trials later this year.
