Niles City Council holds second public forum on medical marijuana dispensaries

Will medical marijuana be coming to Niles?

Tuesday night, the Niles City Council held its second public discussion about the possibility of medical marijuana dispensaries in the city, according to the South Bend Tribune.

These forums are being used to gauge the public reaction to the possibility and weigh the pros and cons. The potential economic boosts were discussed enthusiastically by a mostly pro-cannabis crowd.

Mayor Nick Shelton says it’s still very early in the process but these meetings are crucial to the decision-making process. Any action is unlikely to happen before December.
