16 people accused of underage drinking arrested at party in Elkhart

Reports of a loud party led officers to a home in northeast Elkhart Sunday morning, and it resulted in free trips to jail for some alleged underage drinkers.

The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department responded to a home in the 25000 block of Meadow Oak Ln.

16 people were found to be drinking alcohol under the age of 21, according to officers. Three of them were under the age of 18 and were released to their parents. The rest were between 18 and 21 and were ticketed for Illegal COnsumption of Alcoholic Beverages.

Those arrested were: Virginia Mora, 18, of Elkhart, Adriana Zilm, 19, of Elkhart, Justin Olenczuk, 19, of Elkhart, Vanessa Drake, 18, of Elkhart, Mariela Patlan-Luna, 18, of Elkhart, Francisco Gamez, 18, of Elkhart, Daniel Ruvalcaba, 19, of Goshen, Erika Cartagena, 19, of Elkhart, Nestor Aguilera, 19, of Elkhart, Deisey Lopez, 18, of Bristol, Krista Bryant, 19, of Brownstown, MI, Bridgett Vasquez-Morfin, 19, of Elkhart, and Beatriz Rocha, 20, of Elkhart.

In addition, 21-year-old Daniel Castaneda of Elkhart was arrested and booked into Elkhart County Jail for allegedly resisting arrest. 22-year-old Viridiana Garcia of Elkhart was also arrested on charges of neglect of a dependent and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
