Man and woman found dead inside vehicle on Edgewood Street in Elkhart

Autopsies on the bodies of a man and woman found in a vehicle in a vacant lot in the 58000 block of Edgewood Street in Elkhart will take place on Monday, March 27.

Officers from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department were sent to the lot just after 2 p.m. on Saturday, according to a sheriff’s department news release.

Upon checking the vehicle officers located the bodies of a Hispanic male was found in the driver’s seat and the body of a Hispanic female was found in the front passenger seat, the news release stated.

The subjects were examined by members of the Baugo Township Fire Department who confirmed that the subjects were dead. Detectives and the Elkhart County Coroner’s office were contacted and are on scene conducting the investigation.
