A coroner has ruled a South Bend woman’s death last week as a homicide.

The St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit says 55-year-old Angelee Phillips was found dead inside a house on the 1300 block of North O’Brien St. just before 11 p.m. Thursday.

Phillips was found with an apparent gunshot wound, and investigators are treating the death as suspicious.

An autopsy was performed on Phillips in Kalamzoo Monday. The coroner ruled her cause of death as a gunshot wound.
