A rough day on Elkhart County roads as two crashes sent seven to the hospital Saturday.

The first crash was a four-vehicle crash that happened on S.R. 15 about three miles south of Bristol at about 11:30 a.m. Saturday, according to the Elkhart Truth.

A vehicle being driven by a 42-year-old El Paso, Texas woman was rear-ended at C.R. 14 by a vehicle driven by 32-year-old Jennifer Roder from Bristol. This sent the El Paso woman’s vehicle into the opposite lanes of S.R. 15, where it was hit head-on by a 58-year-old Bristol woman’s vehicle. Then, that vehicle was rear-ended by a woman who fled the scene.

Police are looking for a vehicle with front-end damage with a likely female driver.

The El Paso woman was taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend with complaints of head pain. Roder was taken to Elkhart General Hospital with complaints of chest, head and ankle pain, along with receiving a laceration to her face. She was also ticketed for following too closely. The second Bristol woman and her passenger were treated at the scene.

Meanwhile, three people were hurt in a head-on crash on C.R. 16 just west of C.R. 3 near Elkhart shortly before 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

A pickup truck driven by 24-year-old David Thrash allegedly crossed teh center line and hit another pickup head-on.

The driver of the other truck was taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend with a broken ankle and displaced hip. His passenger was treated at Elkhart General Hospital for head, chest, and leg pain.

As for Thrash, he was treated at Memorial Hospital for a broken arm and facial lacerations. He was also charged with speeding and driving left of center.
