Three-vehicle crash south of Warsaw seriously injures two

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the intersection of State Road 15 and County Road 400 S between Warsaw and Claypool.

The crash involved a 1997 Ford Explorer driven by a 39-year-old Pierceton woman, a 2006 Ford Escape driven by a 32-year-old Peru man, and a 2007 Hyundai driven by a 28-year-old Winona Lake woman.

At about 3:30 p.m. Friday, deputies determined the Pierceton woman had been driving southbound on State Road 15 and lost control of her vehicle.  She struck the second vehicle, and continued forward, striking the third vehicle that was also northbound on State Road 15.

The first vehicle continued off the roadway, striking a fence and guide wire attached to a hit a utility pole.

The Pierceton woman suffered a head and hand injury, while the Winona Lake woman had to be extricated from her car and had suffered hip injuries. Both were taken to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne in serious condition. The man from Peru refused treatment.
