It’s a sure sign of summer in Elkhart.
Elkhart’s Rhapsody has become the Rhapsody Arts and Music Festival, and has been a staple of the arrival of warmer weather in the city for almost 40 years. Mayor Tim Neese says the new, more specific name reflects a renewed commitment to limit the commercial side of the event, and focus more on the artistic side.
The event will be held at Island Park in downtown Elkhart from June 9 – 11, with artists, crafters, local musicians, delicious food, and fewer commercial exhibits.
Activities are planned for the entire family and visitors are encouraged to bring their inner tubes and float on the Elkhart River to the island, with emergency personnel on hand to offer added safety. Fourteen local bands will play at the Island Park Stage.
