Arrest made after shooting, police pursuit in South Bend

One man is behind bars after a shooting and pursuit in South Bend.

Police were called to the 1100 block of Indiana Avenue on Monday afternoon, June 5.

The victim was shot in the foot, according to South Bend Police.

The suspect drove away from the scene with police in pursuit, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

The suspect ditched his car in the area of South St. Joseph and Woodside Streets and tossed his gun in the backyard of a home, ABC 57 reported.

He was captured by police a short time later.

The victim is expected to be okay.

No word on what led to the shooting.
