Benton Harbor Police investigating attempted abduction of six women

Officers with the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety are investigating an attempted abduction.

It happened around 2:15 a.m. on Monday, June 19 on Ogden Avenue in Benton Harbor.

Six women were walking on the street when two vehicles, a Chevy Impala with unknown out-of-state plates, possibly Indiana, with the last 4 characters “OG43”, and an unknown make and model silver truck pulled up to them.

The girls stated that several males armed with handguns got out of the vehicles and attempted to force them into the vehicles.

The females ran away and the males chased the females, investigators said.

The females were able to escape.
