More details have emerged about an incident in Elkhart this past weekend where a victim was stabbed in the face.

32-year-old Edwardo Brena is accused of stabbing a victim in the face, neck, arms and back at a home on State Road 19. The Elkhart Truth is reporting Brena got into an argument with a woman at about 10 p.m. Saturday because she didn’t pick him up that evening.

Her boyfriend reportedly stepped in and got stabbed for his troubles, then chased to the parking lot of the Flipping Cow, where officers arrived and arrested Brena. The victim is expected to recover.

Brena is charged with attempted murder and also faces a charge of battery with a deadly weapon. He faces up to 56 years in prison if convicted of both charges.
