Police chase spanning three Indiana counties ends in drug bust

Three counties. Nine police agencies. Two suspects. And one wild ride.

It started at about 4:45 a.m. Saturday when a LaGrange Police officer tried to pull over 36-year-old Curt Glass of Kendallville for a traffic infraction.

He didn’t comply and fled south into Noble County, according to ABC 57. Despite stop sticks being laid by the Ligonier Police Department and Noble County Sheriff’s Department, Glass continued unabated into Whitley County.

More stop sticks were laid in Whitley County, shredding all four of Glass’s tires. The vehicle was finally forced off the roadway in Columbia City, ending up in a yard.

Glass and a passenger, 31-year-old Autumn Morphew, were arrested and taken to LaGrange County jail.

Glass is facing preliminary charges of:

  • Dealing in methamphetamine
  • Possession of methamphetamine over 20 grams
  • Resisting with a motor vehicle
  • Possession of cocaine
  • Possession of a legend drug
  • Dealing in marijuana
  • Possession of marijuana
  • Possession of paraphernalia
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Possession of hypodermic needle
  • Maintaining a common nuisance
  • Theft of a firearm
  • Attempt to destroy evidence

Morphew is facing preliminary charges of:

  • Dealing in methamphetamine
  • Possession of methamphetamine over 20 grams
  • Resisting with a motor vehicle
  • Possession of cocaine
  • Possession of a legend drug
  • Dealing in marijuana
  • Possession of marijuana
  • Possession of paraphernalia
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Possession of hypodermic needle
  • Visiting a common nuisance
  • Attempt to destroy evidence
