Ernie Banks once famously said “let’s play two.” Jason Heyward is taking that advice when it comes to the South Bend Cubs Monday night.

“The J-Hey Kid” will continue to rehab his cut left hand Monday night against the Lansing Lugnuts at Four Winds Field.

Heyward was removed after three innings Sunday before a rain delay. He knocked in an RBI in his only hit, walked his other appearance, and scored a run.

The Chicago Cubs have the day off today, so the big league club decided it couldn’t hurt having Heyward rehab one more day in South Bend.
