Buchanan continues to grapple with medical marijuana business locations

Buchanan continues to work on a medical marijuana ordinance.

The city is looking to finalize an ordinance that would regulate medical marijuana businesses. WSBT reports that they are recommending allowing dispensaries in the newer area uptown in Buchanan along Front Street. Those businesses, however, would not be in the older downtown area several blocks away.

This recommendation is in response to concerns raised by business owners to city leaders.

Buchanan’s looking at capping the number of dispensaries at five. That’d be more than Niles, who the South Bend Tribune reports is considering a cap in the two to four business range.
