The man who claimed he tossed his 19-month-old daughter from his car on U.S.31, Friday, has been charged.

Damion Anderson faces counts of resisting law enforcement, carrying handgun without a license and battery by bodily waste.

Officers with the St. Joseph County Police Department were called to U.S. 31 and Kern Road on the report of shots fired. When they arrived on scene, Damion Anderson told police people were shooting at him. He later said he threw his daughter from the vehicle.

According to court documents, Anderson struggled with police and spit on two officers. It turned out the child was okay, and with other family members the entire time.
