Schoolcraft man arrested after police chase that started in Colon

A Schoolcraft man is facing a pair of felonies after leading officers on a chase Sunday afternoon that started near Colon.

The 31-year-old man was allegedly driving over 100 miles per hour when a trooper near Colon and Orla Engle Roads clocked him for speeding.

The trooper was unable to catch up to the man, but a second trooper found the vehicle. ABC 57 reports that, during an attempt to stop the vehicle, the driver lost control, crashed, and flipped several times before ending up in a field.

The driver then took off into the field, but was eventually found on Hutchinson Road north of Three Rivers.

He was booked into jail for fleeing and eluding as well as operating while intoxicated.
