Several area counties had some of the lowest unemployment rates in the state of Indiana last month.
According to numbers released by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, Elkhart and LaGrange Counties both have a 2.5% unemployment rate, almost the lowest in the state.
Kosciusko County isn’t far behind with 2.7%, with Marshall County right behind them at 3.0%.
Those counties are on the lower side of the statewide average of 3.4%.
St. Joseph County is in the bottom half of the state at 3.6% unemployment, while LaPorte County is the 7th-worst at 4.2%.
The highest unemployment rate in the state is in Fayette County at 4.9%.
