Marian’s Reggie Glon steps down as football coach

It’s the end of an era for Marian High School football.

Head coach Reggie Glon resigned as the Knights’ head coach this week after 24 years at the helm. However, he’s not leaving the team entirely.

During a press conference Tuesday, he stated that he will take a different position within the coaching staff under the helm of defensive coordinator Michael Davidson, who is taking Glon’s spot as head coach. He told the South Bend Tribune he felt it was time for someone younger to do his job.

The Knights lost in the Class 3A semistate championship this past season. During his tenure, his teams won five sectional titles, four regional titles, and a conference championship.
