Several drug raids took place across the area on Wednesday, Feb. 28.
One of the raids took place near McKinley Highway and Byrkit in Mishawaka.
Officers were scene coming in and out of a garage behind a business, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.
Indiana State Police, along with the DEA and the Joseph County and Elkhart County Sheriff’s Departments were on scene.
Officers were spotted checking out a couple of trucks parked by the garage. At least one vehicle was towed from the scene, ABC 57 reported.
Two people were arrested at that location. One was taken to the St. Joseph County Jail. The other was taken to the Elkhart County Jail.
Indiana State Police released the following information on Wednesday afternoon regarding the drug raids:
This morning, around 7:30 a.m., three warrants were simultaneously served as a result of an ongoing drug investigation. A multijurisdictional effort between the Indiana State Police, Indiana State Police DES, Indiana State Police ERT, Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office Intelligence Covert Enforcement Unit, Mishawaka Police Department, St. Joseph County Police Department, St. Joseph County Drug Investigation Unit, South Bend Police Department, ATF, and DEA resulted in the seizure of drugs, guns, money, and a stolen vehicle.
Warrants were served at 55971 Clover Road, Mishawaka, 304 East Louis Street, Osceola, and 221 South Byrkit Street, Mishawaka. These warrants resulted in the seizure of approximately three pounds of methamphetamine, approximately four pounds of marijuana, two handguns, a stolen SUV, and $3,300 in United States Currency.
Jeromee Sells, age 39 of Osceola, was arrested on a preliminary charge of Distributing Methamphetamine and was taken to the St. Joseph County Jail.
Michelle Haughee, age 36 of Elkhart, was arrested on an outstanding Body Attachment and was taken to the St. Joseph County Jail.
Michelle Johnson, age 48 of Osceola, was arrested on a preliminary charge of Dealing Methamphetamine and was taken to the Elkhart County Jail.
Jason Myers, age 43 of Edwardsburg, was arrested on a preliminary charge of Maintaining a Common Nuisance and was taken to the St. Joseph County Jail.
