Peregrine Falcon expecting babies at the top of the South Bend County-City building

South Bend’s County-City Building is about to be the scene of a birth.

The peregrine falcon who currently occupies the nest in the top of the building has laid two eggs. The nest is man-made, and several different falcons have used it to incubate their eggs over the past several years. It’s not known exactly when the eggs were laid, but they typically hatch between 29 and 32 days.

You can find a link to the city’s live “FalCam” and follow the progress here.
