Two people seriously injured in collision at County Road 6 and County Road 7

Several people were injured, two of them seriously, in a crash at County Road 6 and County Road 7.

THe collision happened just before 2:40 p.m. according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department.

A truck pulling a trailer with construction equipment was traveling east on County Road 6 approaching County Road 7. As the light turned yellow the truck continued through the intersection. The passenger car was traveling west on County Road 6, as the light turned yellow the passenger car turned left to go south on County Road 7, according to a news release from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department.

The two vehicles crashed in the intersection, causing the truck leave the roadway and strike a traffic light pole, the sheriff’s department reported.

Several people in the truck were transported to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment of
injuries.

One of the injured had life threatening injuries.

The driver of the passenger car was transported to Elkhart General Hospital with life threatening injuries.
