It’s official: Carson’s is closing all of its stores nationwide.
Two liquidation firms became the high bidders for the assets of Bon-Ton Stores, the bankrupt company that owns Carson’s stores.
The Chicago Tribune reports a bankruptcy judge Wednesday approved the sale of the company’s assets to those firms and a group of company bondholders. This means that Carson’s stores will close after 160 years of business.
It also means the locations in Elkhart, Warsaw, Benton Harbor, and Michigan City will close by August 31st. Liquidation sales are expected to start immediately.
