Notre Dame announces new clear bag policy starting in September

(Photo supplied/ABC 57)

Notre Dame is starting a new clear bag policy for its sporting events.

That includes all reserve-ticketed events at Notre Dame Stadium, Purcell Pavilion, and the Compton Family Ice Arena.

The new policy calls for clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags no larger than 12″ by 6″ by 12″ or a one-gallon Ziploc or Hefty bag.

If the bag has a logo, it must be 4″ by 3.4″ or smaller.

A small clutch is permitted. Exceptions will be made for medical bags or medical equipment, but those will be subject to inspection.

If you bring a prohibited item, you’ll be asked to either return the item to your vehicle or a vendor can ship them at cost.

Here’s a list of what’s prohibited at Notre Dame athletic events starting in September:

  • Purses larger than a clutch (4.5″x6.5″)
  • Coolers
  • Briefcases
  • Backpacks
  • Fanny packs
  • Drawstring bags
  • Luggage
  • Computer bags
  • Camera bags
  • Binocular cases
  • Diaper bags

Since I am now a suspect for just attending a sporting event at ND I think I’ll just stay home.
