Man arrested after domestic disturbance, police standoff in St. Joseph

A domestic disturbance and police standoff ended with one man taken into police custody.

Officers with the St. Joseph Department of Public Safety were called around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, to the 1700 Block of Forres Avenue.

Upon arrival officers spoke with the victim who said she was assaulted.

A man inside the residence refused to cooperate with police and refused to come out.

Officers had information he was intoxicated and armed with an unknown weapon.

With help from the Berrien County Sheriff Department, the male suspect was arrested.

There were no injuries reported.
