A pro-abortion group wants Mayor Pete Buttigieg to veto approval of a pro-life center that would go next to an abortion clinic.
Pro Choice South Bend has started gathering signatures opposing the Women’s Care Center’s rezoning request, which was approved by a 5 to 4 vote at Monday’s common council meeting.
355 signatures were emailed to council members Sunday, and about 60 more have been collected as of Wednesday morning. Opponents tell the South Bend Tribune that they want Buttigieg to “take a stand here for reproductive rights and access” as well as prevent a potential “conflict zone” that would be created by the two locations being next to each other.
If Buttigieg doesn’t sign the bill by the May 3rd deadline, the bill does not become law.

What are the pro abortion people afraid of? As long as BOTH sides BEHAVE and stay on their own property and DON’T scream at people trying to get help, neither side has a right to stop free enterprise. Just because people don’t like to see babies aborted does not mean they are right wing nut jobs. You each offer a service. Try getting along!
I totally agree with Kate no one would except a petition to keep out the “woman center” a petition to keep out a pro life group is unacceptable as well.
This is VERY enlightening. We often hear the pro-choice (to kill an innocent human being) side argue that the pro-life side only cares about the unborn and does nothing to help mothers and the born that are in need. Now along comes an organzation that does directly help the latter and is met with nothing but resistance.
