Elkhart Community Schools Superintendent is reportedly leaving to take the same post in the Terre Haute area.

Rob Haworth is expected to become the top administrator for Vigo County School Corporation. That’s according to a report by the Terre Haute Tribune-Star, who cites numerous anonymous sources. An official announcement is expected this week.

Haworth has been the top administrator for Elkhart schools since 2012. He’s been instrumental in the “Elkhart Promise”: the plan to merge Elkhart Central and Memorial High Schools and other district restructuring.

Haworth was also considered to run the South Bend Community Schools Corporation in 2011. He lost out to Carole Schmidt before taking the Elkhart post one year later.
