Sears closing stores nationwide but not Mishawaka

72 underperforming Sears and Kmart stores are closing nationwide.

None of them are in Michiana. This includes the University Park Mall location in Mishawaka, which is listed in an online auction.

The physical store is for sale and the deadline to place bids on the store came the same day Sears made the closings public: Thursday. While Sears is selling the physical store, it’s hopeful the new buyer leases the store back to them.

The 72 stores that are closing are part of around 400 stores Sears has closed in the past year, including the Mishawaka KMart. The nearest store that is closing is in Lafayette.
