Two people were hurt after shottings both at and near an Elkhart apartment complex.

Elkhart police were called shortly before 10 a.m. Friday to the 300 block of Indiana Avenue, just east of Prairie Street. Police say the victim was walking in the area when he was shot in the hand.

A second person was located injured at Washington Gardens apartment complex on Chapman Avenue. The victim told police he was in the apartment when he heard a bang and discovered he had been shot. That victim suffered a non-life threatening injury to a leg.

Neither victim was able to provide officers with a suspect description.
