The latest renovation at the historic Firehouse No. 6 in South Bend will see the Portage Avenue building become a restaurant, single-family apartment, and an office.

A California-based architecture firm that the South Bend Tribune reports has local ties bought the property last year for $60,000.

Its owner reportedly wants to revert the property back to how it looked when it was built in 1898.

The property has seen multiple renovations over the years, having served as a civic theatre, a Civil War training camp, and a fairgrounds for the St. Joseph County Agricultural Society.
