Turf project underway at Elkhart Central’s Rice Field

Construction has begun on Elkhart Central’s Rice Field.

The grass is being replaced at the field with artificial field turf, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth.

A bulldozer was seen tearing up the current grass field this week.

In February, Rice Field completely flooded, which in part led to the decision to make the move to field turf.

Rice Field will be the home for the combined Elkhart High School after the merger is complete.
