The South Bend Common Council has passed a bill establishing sexual harassment training for all city employees.

Council members passed the ordinance on Monday, with Council Vice President Oliver Davis telling ABC 57 that it was something the council needed to keep up-to-date with, in an effort to be proactive as leaders of the community.

During their latest session, state lawmakers passed a similar bill implementing sexual harassment requirements.

Davis says other Michiana communities have shown an interest in following South Bend’s example.
