Get ready for a weekend of serious heat this weekend.

An Excessive Heat Watch is in effect for all of Northern Indiana and Southwest Michigan, from Noon ET Friday until 8 P.M. ET on Saturday.

ABC 57’s Tyler Sebree tells us air temperatures will be in the mid-90s with dew points approaching 80 degrees. That excessive amount of humidity has only happened a few times in the last century, and will push the heat index near 110 degrees.

A higher risk of heat-related stress and illness will impact the very young, the very old, and those without air conditioning. And the interior of vehicles can become lethat in mere minutes.

Be sure to remain hydrated and stay cool as much as possible.
