EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) — Officials in southwestern Indiana are planning for heavy security and restricted traffic in anticipation of President Donald Trump’s planned campaign rally.

The Evansville Courier & Press reports that Trump plans to attend a fundraiser in Evansville before the Thursday rally, where he’ll endorse Republican Mike Braun’s U.S. Senate campaign against incumbent Democrat Joe Donnelly.

The Ford Center rally has already filled up the convention center’s hotel and forced the cancellation of a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert. Merchants near the rally hope the crowd stays under control and that visitors will boost business.

Area organizers have planned at least two protests during the event. Progressive activists from at least 18 Indiana counties, Kentucky and Illinois intend to join the Vanderburgh County Democratic Party demonstration outside Trump’s rally.
