Man found with stab wound arrested for robbery

A man who was found with a stab wound has been arrested on suspicion of a robbery.

South Bend Police were sent to the area of Olive and Western on Monday, Sep. 10, for a report of a stabbing.

On arrival, police found two individuals on scene, both of which had non-life threatening injuries and were transported to the hospital, according to a South Bend Police Department news release.

The individual with the stabbing injury was identified as Robert Gamble.

Further investigation found that there had been a robbery attempt and a physical altercation between Gamble and the other individual, with Gamble being the aggressor, the news release stated.

Gamble was placed under arrest and was to be transported to the St. Joseph County Jail after medical treatment at the hospital.

The South Bend Police Department is crediting the community for quickly notifying them of the incident.
