Appeal denied for Benton Harbor man convicted of murder

The Michigan Supreme Court has denied an appeal from a Benton Harbor man convicted of murder in Benton Township.

Anthony Sanders, 20, is serving life in prison without parole for the murder of Kenneth Martin Jr., 43, during an attempted robbery.

It happened on East Empire Avenue in November of 2016.

Michigan’s high court is not required to hear appeals in cases where a defendant pleaded guilty.

Earlier this year, the Michigan Court of Appeals also denied an appeal of his conviction.
