Former LaPorte County paramedic found guilty of reckless homicide

A former LaPorte County paramedic has been found guilty of reckless homicide.

A jury found 40 year-old Tron Gorbonosenko guilty of two counts of reckless homicide and OWI causing death.

He was the driver of a Ford Mustang that was involved in a head-on crash on US 20 and Bootjack Road in October 2017.

The crash killed Don and Angie Kaczmarek, owners of Packman Pizzeria, in the van that was struck. Both died at the scene.

The former paramedic had a BAC of .17 at the time of the crash, which is more than twice the legal limit.

He was also the suspect in a property damage crash earlier that same day.
