Middlebury student faces expulsion after allegedly bringing gun to school

A Jefferson Elementary School student in Elkhart County faces expulsion after he allegedly brought a gun to school on Tuesday.

The Goshen News reports that student reportedly showed the gun to other students, and one of them reported them. Middlebury Community Schools immediately had the school resource officer and local law enforcement take the student into custody.

No one was injured, parents were notified, and a police report was filed.

Under Indiana law, any student who brings a gun onto school property is expelled for one calendar year.
