ANDERSON, Ind. (AP) — A central Indiana man has been sentenced to a year of probation after pleading guilty to 30 misdemeanor counts of voter registration fraud stemming from allegations before the 2018 primary election.

The Herald Bulletin reports 28-year-old Datwaon Collier of Anderson entered the pleas Friday in Madison Circuit Court Division 6 in an agreement with Madison County prosecutors.

Collier also must perform 50 hours of community service. He said he had no felony convictions on his record. He earlier apologized.

A probable cause affidavit says the investigation was started when the Republican and Democratic parties’ representatives in the voter registration office reported that 30 registrations were potentially invalid. Collier allegedly was collecting registrations for a state House candidate but included made-up addresses and signed registration forms himself.
