Mayor Pete Buttigieg has named Genevieve Miller as Deputy Chief of Staff.

Miller joins the Mayor’s Office from the Business Analytics team in the Department of Innovation & Technology. She previously led the City’s Bloomberg Mayors Challenge team, distinguishing South Bend as one of nine cities to win $1 million for an innovative data-driven solution to address transportation as a barrier to stable employment.

Miller graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a B.S. in Environmental Science and an M.S. in Engineering, Science & Technology Entrepreneurship. As a U.S. Fulbright Scholar, she also graduated from the University of Gastronomic Sciences with a Master in Gastronomy.

Miller serves as a board member of the Purple Porch Co-op, and previously served as a member of the City’s Health & Public Safety Common Council Standing Committee.

She will start the position on March 25.
