NEW YORK (AP) — Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg is the latest Democratic presidential candidate to agree to hold a town hall meeting on Fox News Channel.

The May 19 event will be broadcast live from Claremont, New Hampshire. Fox News Sunday’s Chris Wallace will moderate.

Buttigieg is a Rhodes Scholar and openly gay Afghanistan veteran serving his second term as mayor of South Bend, Indiana.

He’s risen in polls since launching an exploratory committee in January, thanks largely to his performance in televised interviews. Buttigieg formally announced his candidacy last week.

During a town hall meeting from New Hampshire that aired on CNN on Monday, April 22, Buttigieg said President Donald Trump has “made it pretty clear that he deserves impeachment,” but he will “leave it to the House and Senate to figure that out.”

Buttigieg was asked about the call from some people in his party for Trump’s impeachment following the release of special counsel Robert Mueller’s redacted report looking into connections between Russia and Trump’s 2016 campaign as well as obstruction of justice. Mueller found no evidence of conspiracy between Russia and the Trump campaign but reached no verdict on obstruction.

Buttigieg says, “My role in the process is trying to relegate Trumpism to the dustbin of history.”

He continued: “And I think there is no more decisive way to do that, especially to get Republicans to abandon this deal with the devil they made, than to have just an absolute thumping at the ballot box for what that represents.

Just more "Fake news" being spread by absent mayor Butti April 24, 2019 at 2:08 pm

Fake news being spread by Butti. How can Donald Trump be guilty of obstruction when there was no collusion? What was he obstructing? What idiots!!! Just another ignorant party politician saying what he is told to say. “Trump has “made it pretty clear that he deserves impeachment,”??? What idiot believes this? Only leftist liberal America. The truth is if the republicans had any balls they would go after these anti-American degenerates and we would see people going to jail. These people truly believe that American citizens are too stupid to figure out what they have been doing and what they are going to do. It is so sad the Mayor Butti can’t come up with his own ideas. He just mimics the Pelosi’s and Schumer’s like a parrot. Electing Butti is electing Pelosi and Schumer.
