Kroger will begin selling products that include CBD oil.

A release from the chain says Kroger will sell the topical products, including lotions, oils, balms and creams, in 17 states including Illinois, Indiana and Michigan.

The company said in the statement this week that they will offer “a highly curated selection” of products with CBD oil that have been reviewed for quality and safety, and none will contain THC, the active ingredient in marijuana that creates a “high”.

The USDA regulates industrial hemp production, but the Food and Drug Administration still has yet to recognize CBD as a ‘safe’ ingredient.

The products will also be available through Ship.Kroger.com and Vitacost dot com.
