Water rescue after boat capsizes on Lake Michigan at New Buffalo

As many as six people were thrown into Lake Michigan in New Buffalo when the owner of a vessel took a large wave head-on, causing the watercraft to capsize.

It happened around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 20.

The Berrien County Marine Unit, New Buffalo City Marine Patrol, US Coast Guard responded arrived on scene and rescued the people out of the water.

There were no injuries.
